8 Travel Destinations on my Bucket List

My lack of posting this week comes from the cold I've been so wonderfully blessed with due to the El Nino aftermath. It was only due time my friends, I haven't been down with a cold in a while. I'm embracing it with open arms. Hello!

Wanderlust: (n.) A Strong Desire or Urge to wander or travel and explore the world.

I'd like to think that I'm the true definition of wanderlust. I can't help but think of all the destinations I've been too and the excitement of traveling to places I have yet to see. There is something beautiful in the thought of traveling to a new destination; excitement in the unknown.  I've always been the one who dreams of moving to a new town on a rash decision, where nobody knows me, and I can start anew. I think that is a little dream in the back of all of our minds, atleast at one point in our lives.

Back in 2014 when Speedracer and I got married, we went on a Honeymoon Road trip up the californa coast and ever since then we've both had the urgency to travel more. And so, we told ourselves, that every year around our wedding anniversary we'd pick two or three states to go see.  Of  course we'd like to travel abroad and go to places like Ireland, France, Italy..Etc. But there are also so many beautiful places in these 50 states that we want to go explore. My SR has only been to Arizona, Nevada, and Colorado (when he was little)...and I've only been to Arizona, Nevada, Utah, Colorado, and Florida. I want to explore more. And I'm excited to do so with that husband of mine.

Although I have a list as big as an old school dictionary, I have narrowed it down to 8 places my heart just dreams of visiting one day. Here are 8 Travel Destinations on my Bucket List. Xo, Enjoy!!

North Carolina

My obsession with North Carolina probably started around the time the television show "One Tree Hill" came out - even though NC was the home to Dawson's Creek first. But if you know anything about me then you know that I'm a die-hard one tree hill fan. And I've been infatuated with Wilmington, NC since around 2003. No Shame. Many of of my friends and their families have moved to North Carolina over the years, my jealousy is at an all time high. I even looked into going to college in NC after I graduated high school. North Carolina has been a destination that I've been talking to Speedracer about for 5 years and I'm still trying to convince him to move there. Maybe when we retire...which I will take it. As long as I get there some day. It's hands down my favorite state...even though I have yet to travel there. Soon, my sweet NC, soon...

Maine

Am I the only one who thinks that Maine doesn't get enough credit? I mean, who doesn't love: Lobster, Lighthouses, Moose, and Sailboats? I couldn't tell you when I fell in love with Maine, but it's definitely on top of my list of places to travel too. I think it's absolutely gorgeous and full of adventure. It also seems like the perfect place to getaway and just do some relaxing in. And I can't wait to visit one day. I can just taste that lobster now...yum!

Massachusetts

It would be too easy to say I wanted to go to Massachusetts because I want to visit Boston. Which, don't get me wrong, I totally want to go see the beautiful city that is Boston. But I've always been interested in visiting one of America's creepiest towns - Salem. I am into some great american history and magical things like witches and potions. I've always wanted to go check out the beautiful season colors in Massachusetts, get scared in Salem, and enjoy the culture in Boston.

Georgia

Ah, Georgia! The 2nd place I looked into going during my college years. On most days, I wish I had gone away to Georgia or North Carolina.....Just to see places like this. Savannah. I honestly think that Savannah, Georgia is one of the most charming places. I was born to be a southern belle and live in a place that looks like this. My Past Life, I'm sure I did. I also would like to do the haunted tour of Savannah..so much creepy history as well as beautiful history. I'm into the weird stuff, as you can tell.

Michigan

Have you looked up the hashtag #puremichigan on instagram? Because you should. I also follow some bloggers from michigan and I could look at their photos all day. I think Michigan has to be one of, if not the most, stunning state. Those sunsets are to die for. We recently had some friends who got married in MI and I just drooled over all of the photos I saw from their wedding weekend. I wouldn't mind getting lost in michigan for a while.

Washington

My Sister lived in Tacoma, Washington for almost a year. I wasn't ever able to go visit, but my parents did, and I'm jealous. Every time I talked to my sister it was raining outside and everything was so green and dreamy. My sister said she'd move back in a heart beat if she was ever given the chance and from what I've seen - I don't blame her. Seattle, Tacoma, Spokane, Mount Rainer, Yakima...so many gorgeous places to visit in the state of Washington. What a trip that would be.

New York

There was a time when New York was the only place I wanted to be. And then there was a time where I'd roll my eyes and say "New York is SO overrated." And then, Speedracer and I began talking about the many sights we wanted to see in New York, because NY is towards the top of my SR's travel destination list. Central Park, Queens, Broadway, and Chuck Bass...The many amazing things about the Big Apple. Am I right? Don't worry, Chuck, I'm on my way to you...or Nate. Which ever.

Louisiana

Did you expect me to leave out the home state of NOLA? I mean..NO! I just want to spend my days listening to jazz music and eating cajun food. I want all of the Gumbo, Crawfish, and cajun-style po' boys a girl can eat. Is that too much to ask? I think not! Louisiana is another state I feel we often talk about but don't give credit too enough. It's such a beautiful state with so much culture and history to it. It's all about embracing an atmosphere when you're in Louisiana and I don't know about you but I'm a TOTAL atmosphere kind of gal. Now...can we talk about cajun food again? nom nom nom!!!

So now that my wanderlust heart is going crazy...This is where I will end today. I honestly can't wait to get out there and travel with my SR. I cant wait for the adventures, the sights, the food....everything. It's going to be a great time checking off that Travel Destination Bucket List I have going for myself!!

What's on your Travel Destination Bucket List??
