Caught in the Rain? Here's Waterproof Makeup!

Waterproof Makeup

San Diego is so sunny, warm and beautiful...just  not right now when El Nino is putting our city under water and giving tornado warnings!

So while I'm locked inside staying dry and warm, I know that some are braving the storm to get to work or other engagements. That's why I decided to look through my waterproof makeup and share with you my favorite ways to keep my makeup dry and beautiful during those stormy days outside. Xo, Enjoy!

If you haven't yet fell in love with a BB Cream like the, Smashbox Camera Ready BB Cream, and you like more of a full coverage face then make sure you get a waterproof and/or long wear foundation.

When it comes to foundations to wear in a storm, I automatically reach for MAC Pro Longwear Nourishing Waterproof Foundation. This foundation is seriously bullet proof to oil (oil-free) and water. It's a 24hr long wearing foundation that dries to a satin finish while maintaining a medium to full coverage.

When its pouring down rain I keep my Brows more on the natural side. I like to brush on MAC's Pro Longwear Waterproof Brow Set to fill in and set my brows in place. This Brow Gel is buildable too so If you like a more dramatic brow but still want something thats going to be waterproof and long wearing, you can apply a little more pressure to your brow when filling them in.

When it comes to contour and highlight, I stay more on the natural side on rainy days. I try to eliminate as many steps as I can. Since I'm not doing a contour I still like to warm up my face using my go-to waterproof bronzer. The Tarte Amazonian Clay "Park Ave Princess" Bronzer is a bronzer that is always in my routine. I use this product on a daily, even when it's not raining. I love how it warms up my face but gives a little highlight-glowing affect too.

Having a cream or liquid blush is always a necessity for me. I am absolutely obsessed with Benefit's Benetint Cheek and Lip stain. What's so great about this product is that it doubles as a cheek and lip color. I like to keep my cheeks flushed lightly and then do a few layers on my lips to build up the color to my liking. It stays all day through rain and many cups of coffee!

On my eyes I don't like doing anything dramatic, if you are an eyeshadow person 24/7 then I'd suggest a cream eyeshadow like Maybelline's Eye Studio Color Tattoo. As for those who are just find with eyeliner and mascara. Grab yourself a great waterproof eyeliner like Benefit's "They're Real! Push-up Liner." Not only is this a smudge-proof, sweat-proof, long lasting eyeliner. But the tip is angled which makes it easier for you to get close to the lash line and create a wing if you desire. Win, Win!

For Mascara, I'm heading back to Tarte Cosmetics to grab ahold of my tride-and-true "Lights, Camera, Splashes" Waterproof Mascara. The regular formula (lights, camera, lashes) is one of my all time favorite mascaras; so I'm really happy that the waterproof formula offers the same lengthening, volumizing, curling, and conditioning benefits.

Lastly, You can't brave a rainstorm without setting your make up with a setting spray. My hand always reaches to my "All Nighter Long-Lasting Makeup Setting Spray" by Urban Decay. Setting your makeup with a setting spray isn't going to just keep your makeup from getting ruined in the rain, but it's also going to help lock your makeup in place all day long.

And there you have it, my 7 little ways to keep a dry, long wearing, waterproof face when you're caught in a rainstorm!
