Our New Homes View

It's 9am here in a chilly San Diego and I am sitting in the door way of our new home while I am sipping my hot coffee that was freshly made from our brand new Keurig that I unpacked yesterday. My bundled up cold feet are stretched out onto our porch and my chilled hands are trying to type. Our Pup is rolling around in his new gated front yard, playing with every new thing in sight. The Neighbors across the street with the cute yellow house just had some workers pull up with large bags of cement they are carrying to the backyard. And the woman who lives there, I don't know her name yet, just got in her car and drove away. I can hear the cement being turned in that big machine thing, not sure what it's called. and now I can hear hammers. I'm curious as to what my new neighbors are doing in the backyard of their little yellow house.

Behind me, is our living room, which is a sea of boxes; half upacked and have untouched. Our Couch is about the only thing in place. Our Kitchen, however, is unpacked and ready for meals to be cooked. My parents came over yesterday and helped me clean, unpack, and organize our Kitchen. I think it's going to be my favorite room in our little house. Our house is small: 2 bedrooms, 1 bath, a living room, and a kitchen. 4 rooms total, 5 if you count the little laundry room. It's small but it's home and I can't wait to make it OUR home. Speedracer has lived here before, this was his Dad's house until we moved in 2 days ago. SR lived here as a child and as a teenager. He feels at home here and I'm glad. He knows all of our Neighbors, they've all known my SR since he was a child and I find comfort in that. I feel safe here on our little quiet street.

The move has made me sick, not in a "sick to my stomach" kind of way, but I have a head cold. So between blowing my runny nose and taking medicine, I clean and I unpack. We have a lot to do around here and I know it's going to take a while until our home is just the way we want it. The living room is going to be the room that is going to take a while to put together. We still need a little end table, a coffee table, and a entertainment center; but atleast we have a couch. We have a dresser and night stand from our old bedroom set in our room but we are sleeping on my father-in-law's bed until my SR builds us my dream bed. That task should be coming soon because we need to give this bed bad to my father-in-law and his girlfriend, but for now it works.

I was standing in our kitchen last night, after a long day of putting it together, and telling SR how I have high hopes for this little cottage house. I really think we can turn it into something magical for our first ever home. The kitchen gave me that hope. You know how you have those dreams in your head of what you want something to look like and you then find pictures on pinterest that resemble that look so it give you hope? That's Me. Except for the fact that I've had this picture in my head about my home long before Pinterest was invented; and I love that it is slowly coming together.

And that's how our days have been the last 3-4 days. I've missed being in touch with the blog world over these last few busy days, but I can't wait to share more with you all about our new home and this new adventure. I hope you're all doing well in your part of the world. As for me, it's time to get our bathroom all set up.
